Seems I've been writing all my life. I received my first rejection letter at the age of five for a creative story I submitted to "Highlights" magazine. But that early roadblock didn't stop my desire to write.
As a professional communicator for the past 16 years, I've worked in most communication mediums. In my early career as a journalist, I told the stories of murder victims stalked by predators, of cancer patients overcoming the odds, and of victims who lost their homes and businesses to wildfires. For months, I covered the Orange County bankruptcy's effect on local schools and city governments.
In the corporate world, I managed the simultaneous production of a dozen quarterly publications. I oversaw editorial meetings between executives and staff members across several time zones. I wrote brochures, direct mail pieces, press releases, ad copy, and newsletters -- most under harrowing deadlines.
